From new arrivals on University Avenue to the historic Square, Georgetown's dining scene has quietly matured. Here is what is worth the ten-minute drive.
A Dining Scene That Finally Matches the Housing
For years, the standard critique of Georgetown from Austin relocators was the same: beautiful homes, thin restaurant options. That gap has closed considerably, and 2026 has been the most active year yet for new openings within a short drive of Cimarron Hills.
New in 2026
Velvet Taco opened its Georgetown location at Bluebonnet Plaza on West University Avenue in late July 2026, bringing the chef-driven taco format that built its following in Dallas and Austin. Potbelly Sandwich Works opened earlier in the year, adding a reliable weekday lunch option on the west side of town. Hopdoddy Burger Bar has been announced for Wolf Ranch Town Center on West University Avenue, and Georgetown has added a second HTeaO location as the corridor keeps filling in.
Wolf Ranch and the West Side
Wolf Ranch Town Center remains the practical center of gravity for everyday dining and shopping from Cimarron Hills. It is the closest full retail node to the community, it continues to add tenants, and Playa Bowls opened there in 2025 for the fast-casual and after-golf crowd. For most Cimarron Hills residents, this is the ten-minute default.
The Square Is Still the Reason People Fall in Love With Georgetown
The historic Williamson County courthouse square is the most complete downtown in Central Texas outside of Austin, and it is genuinely walkable. Limestone storefronts, patio dining under string lights, live music on weekends, and independent operators rather than chains. It is the single best thing to show a relocation buyer who is not yet sold on leaving Austin, and it is roughly fifteen minutes from the Cimarron Hills gate.
The Club Table
Worth noting for buyers new to club living: a meaningful share of dining inside Cimarron Hills happens at the clubhouse. Between the dining room, the grill, and member events, many residents eat on property several times a week. That changes the calculus on how far you are willing to drive for a weeknight dinner.
The Practical Takeaway
Georgetown's dining depth is now a supporting argument for the address rather than a caveat. If you are evaluating a move and want a tour that includes the Square, Wolf Ranch, and the club dining room in the same afternoon, we can arrange it.
